A festival for all the senses
An enchanting winter wonderland of light, illumination, illusion, music and culinary delights awaits visitors. A fantastic world that appeals to all the senses: a unique sea of lights in the inner courtyard of the National Museum Zurich, magical storytelling, glowing candyfloss, mulled wine, concerts by mysterious mythical creatures and other playful surprises for young and old — staged by Yuki and her fabulous friends. Long evenings for city dwellers and cosy advent evenings for friends, work colleagues and all other visitors. Every evening from 5 pm, there is an interactive experience allowing you to immerse yourself in the sky and get closer to the stars. Until 8 pm, Yuki orchestrates her latest light show “Topsy-Turvy Christmas” with her music-loving and fabulously freaky friends.
It’s finally Christmas again at the National Museum Zurich
From 8 pm, five renowned animation studios and two teams from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts will showcase their work at the ART FESTIVAL and demonstrate why they were nominated from an international field of entries. The artists now have a chance to persuade the audience in a public contest and win the main prize.
The fabulous ILLUMINARIUM, a magical Christmas festival of lights returns!
The front area of the inner courtyard is freely accessible to visitors at all times, and this is where all sorts of culinary delights are on offer (catering available until midnight). Before, after and during the light shows, you can warm up, find food and refreshments, meet friends or immerse yourself further in the world of illumination to a soundtrack of wintry beats. A festival for all the senses with plenty of space for dark winter evenings, cocktail bars with illuminated drinks and a large selection of wonderful winter snacks. The inner courtyard facilities at the National Museum Zurich are complemented by a restaurant with space for up to 200 people. You can book a cosy fondue evening at ILLUMINARIUM online here.
